Education

I graduated from Wesleyan College with a B.A. in English with a concentration in Religious Studies. My English GPA is 3.78, and my overall GPA is 3.59. In addition to this, I am a certified Paraprofessional.

Experience

During college, I worked in my school's writing center for a year and a half. I was responsible for helping students formulate ideas about paper topics, organize their thoughts into clear sentences and paragraphs, and lastly, I helped them cite ideas that were not their own. My goal as a tutor was to help improve my students' writing in three areas: clarity, cohesion, and being concise. Currently, I tutor students ranging from Pre-Kindergarten to Graduate School. I specialize in all subjects for grades K-5. I specialize in Reading, Spelling, Language Arts, and English for grades 6-12. I tutor my undergraduate and graduate students in Writing. I have taken the survey courses of both British Literature and American Literature (part I and II). I have taken African Literature, Argumentative Writing, and various creative writing courses. I love tutoring because it's a way to close the educational gap and learn the individual educational needs of a person. I tutor full-time, and I thoroughly enjoy what I do. I believe an education is a vital tool to have in this world, and I enjoy being a stepping stone for students to reach their full potential.

In my free time, I like to be outdoors, which means I'm hiking, swimming, or just sitting outside reading. I go thrifting every week or so to find books, pots for my plants, or records. I make time every day to read and write short fiction stories. Occasionally, I'll head out to the movies if there's a Marvel was released.
